In a Tessellated House
Two different tessellations are employed here. A fish with folded-over tail is a motif Escher also used, though the symmetries are different in this design. A photo-rendered version of the motif is used as a fishing trophy. Mathematicians classify tessellations as belonging to different "wallpaper groups"; the brass trophy plaque states the group name of the fish design used for the wallpaper in this imaginary house. The floor tiles are a metamorphosis from elongated hexagons to cats.
